General Information

In the heart of downtown Niagara-on-the-lake, the Prince of Wales Hotel has been accommodating guests and servicing locals since 1864. According to Vintage Hotels, this historical landmark has been known by many different names, such as Long’s Hotel, The Arcade Hotel and The Niagara House.  Today, it is known for its warm welcoming accommodating features.

 

The Prince of Wales restaurant, Escabèche is located within the building and provides guests, locals and visitors astounding French and English cuisine.   Chef Andrew Dymond prepares delightful dishes by incorporating Niagara flavors, such as its produce, wine and cultural influence.

 

Guests, as well as locals are also encouraged to indulge in relaxing spa treatments at its Secret Garden Spa.  The hotel also offers businesses or organizations meeting and conference rooms that are equipped modern day amenities.


Due its location, guests are able to experience everything that Niagara-on-the-lake has to offer.  Performances at the Shaw Festival, visits to the Niagara Historical Society Museum, cycling tours, winery tours and scenic walks along the Niagara River are all provided to the host community and guests who wish to experience the culture and heritage of the Niagara Greenbelt region.

QEW exit 38B, (Hwy. 55 exit), Niagara-on-the-Lake 

 

Left (north) on Glendale Avenue and drive over the QEW overpass

 

Left (west) on York Road at lights and service centre with washrooms

 

Right (north) on Niagara Stone Road/Regional Road 55

 

Niagara Stone Road/Regional Road 55 turns into Mississagua Street

 

Turn left on Queen Street

 

The Prince of Wales Hotel is located on the corner of Queen Street and Picton Street

 

From Niagara Falls:

Travel North on Victoria Avenue towards Valley Way

 

Turn left at Niagara Parkway

 

At the roundabout, take the first exit and stay on Niagara Parkway

 

Continue onto Niagara River Blvd

 

Continue onto Queen’s Parade

 

Continue onto Picton Street

All rooms provide plush hypoallergic duvets, 300 thread count sheets, Victorian decor, and much more.Some rooms provide guests with a fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, and views of Simcoe Park.

RESTAURANT

Escabèche offers patrons French and English cuisine complimented by Niagara’s fresh local produce and international imported food, which provide guests unique flavors in every dish. Niagara Region’s wines are chosen specifically to complement any meal at Escabèche.

Prince of Wales Hotel’s Secret Garden Spa is one of the top 30 Spas in America in 2007-2008. The relaxing environment provides calming spa treatments performed by a skilled team of estheticians.
