If harvesting your own cultivated tree at Christmas time is an appealing thought, stop by the Pillar ‘N Pine Christmas Tree Farm at 171 Metler Road  The tree farm has seven thousand trees, including several varieties of spruce, pine as well as Fraser Fir. The farm is open weekends only starting at the end of November. It’s worth noting that in many years, the farm sells out within a few weeks of opening – so don’t delay if you’re planning to go to the Pillar ‘n Pine for your Christmas tree.

Directions 

From Hamilton:
1.    Highway 20 to Haist Road
2.    Turn left at the first set of lights on entering Fonthill 
3.    Turn left at the stop sign 
4.    Pillar'N'Pine is the first farm on the right

From Fort Erie / Buffalo:

1.    Head north on Queen Elizabeth Way E towards Toronto  
2.    Take the Macleod Rd exit toward Regional Road 49  550 m
3.    Turn left at McLeod Rd 4.5 km
4.    Turn right at Regional Road 70/Thorold Townline Rd 1.2 km
5.    Take the 2nd left onto Lundys Ln/ON-20 W Continue to follow Lundys Ln 3.0 km
6.    Continue onto ON-58 S/Regional Road 20
       Continue to follow Regional Road 20 8.0 km
7.    Turn right at 4th set of lights (Haist St) 2.1 km
8.    Turn left at the stop sign (Metler Rd)

       Pillar'N'Pine is the first farm on the right 400 m
