Coronation Park and Grimsby Lions Community Pool |
The Forty Mile Creek runs along the edge of this tree filled park, a cool shady haven in the middle of town. There are benches along the walkway and in the evening the reproduction period lamps light the paths with soft glow for a quiet summer reverie.

Coronation Park was established in 1953 beside the Forty Mile Creek, which was one of the original reasons for the establishment of the settlement, now known as Grimsby. This park was the site of the first canning factory in Canada, and later, of the first basket factory. Begun by the Cross Family around 1879-80, the Carpenter Basket Factory was gutted by fire on April 11 1896.
